The Hellmilton Roller Ghouls proudly present the second game of their home season: GangGreen vs. Ultra Violent
If you came to see the Hellmilton Roller Ghouls’ first home game, you’ll know that the next clash between their home teams is going to contain some serious action. If you missed it, you should know that you can’t miss this!
The purple and silver Ultra Violent beat out the green and blue GangGreen in their first match up, so both teams have something to play for when they meet once again on the 21st of July. Ultra Violent are keen to take another win to ensure their victory in the three part series; but GangGreen are looking for the equaliser to create one hell of a showdown when they meet for the final time in September.
The two teams have had three months to fine tune their strategies and strengthen their hits, so turn up early, grab a suicide seat on the edge of the track, and dress to impress the skaters on your favourite team. Don’t forget to dress warm, and bring cash for the bar and merchandise goodies!

Live Roller Derby in Hamilton
The Hellmilton Roller Ghouls proudly present their first home season: ‘Paper, Sissors, BLOCK!’
The Hellmilton Roller Ghouls are your local Roller Derby league, and they have gone from strength to strength since their founding in 2009. The league is now proud to bring to Hamilton their first ever home season, featuring two newly formed teams: The purple and silver ‘Ultra Violent’, and the green and blue ‘Gangreen’.
Roller Derby supporters in Hamilton may have met the league’s travel team, Raggedy Angst, last year, when they took on the Pirate City Rollers. Members of this team, as well as newer skaters that have recently passed their skills tests, will make up the two home teams.
The home season will consist of three bouts, on the 5th of May, 21st July, and the final on the 8th of September. The travel team will also host games in Hamilton, as well as heading to Tauranga and Christchurch for away games during this time.
Both home teams have been training hard since the team roster announcement in March of this year, and are looking forward to vying against each other for the position of home town heroes. If you are keen to be right in the action, come in early when the doors open at 6pm and secure yourself one of the limited ‘suicide seats’ on the edge of the track – BYO cushion, and sit at your own risk!
Whether you are a seasoned roller derby fan, or a newcomer to the sport, the home season bouts are not to be missed. All home games will be played at the Hamilton Devils Inline Hockey Rink on Dey Street in Hamilton East, so get in quick to secure your seats, wear your team colours, and prepare for a great night out!
Never fear! The next intake day is Sunday 1st April. We suggest you try get in as much skating as possible before hand to make the most of the training sessions, so head down to the public skate session at the Melville rink Thursdays 7-9pm, there are skates to hire and it’s super cheap!

Phew, Hellmilton has finally done it, popped our home game cherry! Bout Bloody Time was a massive success with just short of 1000 spectators, 4 teams and a fabulous lot of Referee’s and Non Skating Officials.
The curtain raiser was taken out by The Mounts ‘Dangerous Curves’ 140 to Taranaki’s ‘Rumble Bees’ 77. Both teams put their blood, sweat, tears and a couple trips to the medics into the bout.
The main event of the evening Hamilton’s ‘Raggedy Angst’ vs Aucklands ‘Cannon Brawlers’ was taken out by the Cannon Brawlers 146 to Raggedy’s 85. Half time saw the scores only a few points difference but the Brawlers, who included some of Aucklands most seasoned Roller Derby players pulled ahead towards the end of the game.
Putting the new Claudelands Arena through it’s paces, the new to Roller Derby crowd proved that you don’t have to be a mad Derby fan to make some noise!
The Hellmilton Roller Ghouls would like to thank our fantastic sponsors that helped make this event possible; Skinks Tattoo Studio, Burger Fuel Victoria Street, East Side Physio and Diggers Bar. And of course our dedicated fans!
